The Basics
1 Credit = 1 Document Formatted
Every time you apply a template to a document, one credit is deducted from your account. Document size does not affect credit consumption — whether your document is 1 page or 100 pages, it costs 1 credit.
When Credits Are Deducted
Credits are deducted immediately when you click Apply. The credit is reserved at the start of the formatting process. If the operation fails, your credit will be refunded.
Types of Credits
1. Subscription Credits (Monthly)
If you have a subscription plan, you receive a set number of credits each month. These credits reset at the start of each billing cycle — unused credits do not roll over.

2. One-Time Credits
Purchase credits without a subscription. One-time credits never expire and remain in your organisation until used. Twelve packs are available, ranging from 10 credits (£38) to 250,000 credits (£812,500).

3. Add-On Credits (Subscribers Only)
Active subscribers can purchase add-on credit packs at a discounted rate compared to one-time packs. These are one-time purchases that never expire.
4. Referral Credits
Earn credits by inviting others to Reformat. When someone you invite signs up, both of you receive 2 credits. Referral credits never expire.
How Credits Are Consumed
Credits are deducted in this priority order:
- Monthly subscription credits (used first)
- One-time and add-on credits (when subscription credits are exhausted)
- Referral credits (as a final fallback)
Checking Your Credit Balance
In the Word Add-in
Your current credit balance is shown in the footer of the add-in panel (e.g., “801 credits”). It is always visible regardless of which view you are in.
On the Website
Log in to web.reformatword.com and go to Your Plan in the sidebar (Admin access required) to view your organisation’s full credit balance, usage breakdown, and billing details.
Credits for Teams
- Credits are shared across all team members in a single pool
- Admins can see a usage breakdown by team member in Your Plan
- Adding team members does not cost extra on any plan
- Referral credits belong to the individual user, not the shared pool
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do unused subscription credits roll over?
No. They reset each billing cycle. One-time credits never expire if you need rollover.
Q: What happens when I run out of credits?
You cannot format documents until you acquire more credits — purchase a one-time pack, buy add-on credits, upgrade your subscription, or earn credits through referrals.
Q: Do team members have separate credit balances?
Subscription and one-time credits are shared. Referral credits belong to the individual who earned them.
Q: Why was my credit deducted before formatting completed?
Credits are reserved when you click Apply. Failed operations receive refunds.
